18 THE WORLD’S LARGEST RELAY RACE TRIOPLAST PARTICIPATED WITH 24 TEAMS IN If you want to be at the forefront of innovation, you always need to carry on learning more about materials, technology, sustainability and the environment. In view of this, Trioplast hatched the idea of internal education about materials and product development.   Those participating in the training include development- engineers, development managers and product managers at Trioplast. Providing the teaching are Trioplast’s largest material suppliers as well as Norner, a research institute in Norway. In addition to gaining new knowledge, participants exchange experiences with each other and create new contacts both within the organization and with the suppliers. TRIOPLAST NYBORG was well represented in this year’s DHL Race, the world’s largest relay event. Nearly 120 em- ployees and family members were in Odense for the start of the race on 15 August. A total of 24 teams were entered and ran or walked their relay stages. There is no mistaking the huge interest at Trioplast in taking part in the race – the num- ber of participants has continued to rise steadily. In 2009, we entered one team, “Plastic Girls”, but now we contribute 24 teams to the event. This is a very pleasing positive trend for good health. Hotbed for innovation FACTS · DHL RACE The annual relay race, sponsored by the logistics company DHL, started in 1981 and has continued to attract new, enthusiastic runners ever since.
